Artery of the foramen rotundum to inferolateral trunk, cavernous internal carotid

Case #1

Case #1

Lateral left common carotid angiogram

The internal carotid artery is occluded near the origin.  A posteriorly directed branch of the internal maxillary artery, the artery of the foramen rotundum, anastomoses with the inferolateral trunk of the cavernous internal carotid. The middle meningeal contributes to retrograde ophthalmic artery flow probably via the recurrent meningeal artery.
