Abstract

This computer-based exhibit outlines the MRI protocols we use to evaluate the breast for malignancy and to evaluate breast implant integrity. The MR appearance of various breast disease states, with pathologic correlation is reviewed. Special emphasis is placed on the dynamic enhancement characteristics of benign and malignant breast disease. Attention to both morphology and enhancement of breast lesions, in the setting of the associated mammographic and ultrasound findings, can improve the accuracy of breast MRI interpretation.
